Graduation Ceremony 2009

Hannah and the graduating class of 2009!
We are very proud of Hannah for how she has matured and all she has achieved these past four years at BFA. She has done well academically, taken a stand as a believer in Jesus Christ, gained some lifelong friends, and has discovered and developed her musical abilities as well. She has received much more than an education here at BFA and is now ready to begin her college career and impact the world as a young Christian woman. Marshall, Sue, and I are really going to miss her and the love she brings to our home.
As class sponsors Sue and I were very involved with the extra curricular activities of Hannah's class. Sue also was a small group Bible study leader with a group of girls from this class since their freshman year. We feel very close to many of them and its hard to imagine them not being
here next school year.
Below are some snapshots of the graduation ceremony, the luncheon which followed, and the dinner cruise on the Rhein River.

May Flowers

Cherry blossoms from our tree in our back yard:

Hannah turns 18! (our little girl blossoming into a woman!)

Six students professed their faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and desire to live for Him through water baptism. It was exciting to hear each of these students tell how they came to the place in their lives when they realized their need for salvation as well as the importance of commiting their lives to living for Him. Five out of six of these young people were baptised by their dads and prayed for by their mom's. The other was baptized by her dorm parents.

" And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen. (Matthew 28 18-20)

Spring Break Missions Trips

During Spring break many of our students and staff went on missions trips.

Here are some photos taken on the missions trip to Kenya- these were taken by Bernie who runs the school called Helping Hands. Half of our team worked here while the other half worked at the orphanage. Aren't these little kids beautiful?! A number of them are physically handicapped and all of them do not have many worldly possessions. They were delighted to be able to play with balloons, to blow bubbles, to make The Wordless Book, to play games together with our team, and most of all, to receive a lot of love and attention from our team members!

We are so thankful to be a part of the vision of the Black Forest Academy to equip our students to impact the world for Christ!
