Strasbourg, France trip.

Luke is a sixth grade student who lives with us. He has two sisters who are boarding students here at BFA. His parents and little brother live in Macedonia. This summer they will be moving to Strasbourg, France where his dad will be the pastor of the Trinity International Church. Sue and I drove Luke and one of his sisters Hally to Strasbourg one Sunday to be with his mom and dad who were there for the weekend. His dad preached that Sunday.

Pot luck church dinner following church.

After church we took a walk in the old section of the city, "La Petite Alsace".

Fun at the Kummers

Hannah's has a group of 7th grade "Chrysalis" girls she works with every Wed evening. They came over our house for a sleep over. (These are actually the girls in Marshall's class!)

It was a night of food, dress up, games, and a movie... and boy were they noisy!

Marshall and Luke spent the night away, and Sue and I retreated upstairs together to watch a movie.

Proof that they actually did sleep:

Coming Soon, "Middle School Play"! Sue has been working with Alyssa (below) and some other artsie students on creating the sets for the play, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs of the Black Forest".

New Blog Site!

Greetings from Germany!
In order to add creativity to our blog site we are trying a new blog server. We are just getting started so please be patient as we experiment.

Above is a picture of our town, Kandern. This is the town we live in and where the Black Forest Academy is located. It is in the southwestern corner of Germany and about 25 minutes driving time from Basel, Switzerland.

On February 21, BFA will be hosting the annual, "Candlelight Dinner" which is an outreach to our German community. Each year has a different theme, always involving music, drama and a dinner. It is a great event put on by members of the local Christian community together with the staff and students of BFA. This year there will be a Gospel choir, mime, and the sign team to present the Gospel message. Both Marshall and Hannah will be participating in the music program.

Another form of outreach involving students and staff of BFA is our Basel outreach team. We go out on a Friday or Saturday evening with the goal of meeting people on the streets in order to share our faith. We have a number of musically- talented students and a mime team, who participate in this outreach.

Hannah is part of the music team.
I go along to drive the students, encourage them,
and to look for opportunities to meet people as well.

To watch the whole group, (Goodwill Music) follow this link to a youtube video of one of their practices:
