Spring time yet?

From the Gospel of John 17:1
"Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."
It is Spring time on the calendar, but the cold weather has not left us quite yet. We are on Spring Break here at the Black Forest Academy. Those who are boarding students here, like Luke who lives with us, have all gone home to their families in the surrounding countries - as far as Asia and Africa. Some from the senior class have gone to the USA to check out colleges. Other students went on Missions Trips to: Romania, Russia, Jordan, Burkino Faso, Kenya, and in Duisberg, Germany. Our Hannah and Sue are in the USA visiting colleges. They will get to be with Alison for Easter. Marshall and I have remained behind to catch up on some projects at the school, and to hang out and spend some father - son time together.

Here are some pictures of activities at the school and in our family from the last few weeks:

Middle school music recital (yea more music pictures :)

Marshall on the piano.

Luke and the 6th grade and their percussion performance.

ACSI Choir comes to Kandern.

Hannah had the priviledge of participating in the Association of Christian Schools International Choir again this year. Two years ago she went to Spain with the choir. Last year she went to Prague. This year the choir came to Germany and was hosted by BFA.

All the students got a t-shirt, .... which says it best:

There were eight schools that sent their students to participate in the Choir:

They performed at BFA on Sunday afternoon and in the local German Lutheran church in the evening.

English Camps 2009 Promotion.
Students and staff who participated in English camps last summer shared about their experience during Friday's chapel to promote for this summer's camps. Hey, YOU could come this summer and help out! Let us know... and we'll put you in touch with the person in charge.

Here's a shot of the German kids who came last summer:

New Baby in town!

Vincenzo and Daisy from our local pizzaria had a beautiful baby girl which we would love to show off to you:

The Bible and Science!

I had the priviledge of taking my fossils (and other interesting rocks) to Mrs. Capp's very enthusiastic fourth grade class to talk about Creation, the Fall, and God's judgement on the world through the flood.

Ski Trip!

Only an hour west of here in the Black Forest there is still a good bit of snow. Bob took Marshall and Luke, and Marshall's buddy Jordan for an afternoon of skiing. The boys had a few good wipe outs but it was a fantastic day!

Enjoy the Music!

From the book of Philippians 4:8

"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy; meditate on these things."
